– New Touareg is expected to be revealed later this year
– Car could share plug-in hybrid powertrain with Audi Q7
New Volkswagen Touareg is on its way to the market targeting end of this year. Design should be influenced by smaller Tiguan so I’ve decided to create my own Touareg. New model will receive a more luxurious interior which could help to attack BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
Rumours has it, we can count with PHEV that could run in full-electric mode for up to 50 miles. Under the bonnet could be same plug-in hybrid powertrain known from Audi Q7 e-tron. Audi dispose with 3.0 TDI diesel and electric motor, on the other hand Volvo XC90 T8 and BMW X5 40e has 2litre petrol with electric engine. SUV from Volkswagen is expected to be revealed later this year. Pricing is likely to stay close to that of the current car, so expect a starting figure of around £45,000. Let me know which combination is better for PHEV. And of course, how you like my render!
